Pursuing a college education – a worthy investment – can almost double your lifetime income with just a Bachelor’s Degree. Keep going for a Master’s or Doctorate Degree and that potential will be multiplied. There is no arguing that going to college is a great investment. But, like anything else worthwhile, you get out what you put in.
College is an opportunity to explore your interests, to study new ones, and learn at the highest levels. You will mingle with professors and experts, and have an amazing opportunity to talk with them, ask questions, and work on projects under their supervision. It is totally different than high school, and you deserve a chance at this if at all possible.
Possible is yes, when you look into the ways you can achieve your college dream. College education – a worthy investment – yes, and your investment can pay off with a better lifestyle, more “toys”, and everything else that goes with being able to find a good paying job. Again, your success in life depends on you and your tenacity, your ability to learn and achieve. Show results in college, and you will open a door to your future career and income.
During college, you will meet lifelong friends, and redefine yourself on your own at college. You have a loose support structure through the academic institution, counselors, professors, and friends, but for the most part you are on your own, at last. Mom and Dad are miles or states away, and what you do and learn is entirely on your own initiative. Extracurricular activities at college offer more chances to find a career direction.
Your choice of college may depend on your interests, your financial backing, as well as career goals. Just going to an Ivy League college does not mean you will make more money than by going to the local Community College. As always, what you end up with depends on how well you use the opportunities presented to you. Where you attend college is not as important as what you learn there. You may want a change from city to country, or vice versa. You can visit different campuses before making a choice. And, you can change your mind later if needed.
This is the time to make that investment, in yourself, of your time and money. It is easier if done immediately following high school graduation, but a college degree can be obtained any time in life, while you raise a family, work another job, or even when you are much older.
Balance the thought, college education – a worthy investment. Consider choices, prices, and opportunities, because you are making an important investment in your future. Be a smart shopper, look for discounts, and bargains, just like making another purchase. Except this one can rule the rest of your life. The more you learn, the better your future. Become an expert on colleges first, then learn all you can about your chosen career. Four years, or more, to build your foundation, and then on with life!
